Analytic training_-
Is for older children and focuses on parts of speech. Uses minimal pairs of words to highlight the differences between different vowels and consonants
Vowel sound example- hat versus heat
Consonant sound example- cat versus hat
Uses sentence repetition activities
Synthetic Intervention
Synthetic Auditory Training for Older Child.
Synthetic training- greater emphasis on comprehension of meaningful speech rather than recognition of consonants and vowels.
Use sentence repetition activities.
Use communication repair strategies- get implantee to ask for repetitions for what they do not understand. First, have them practice asking for repetitions. The goal is for them to ask spontaneously.
Use picture books for everyday vocabulary by having patient to name pictures.
Use picture books with sentences. Example- I see a blue bird. Or Ask questions. Can you find the blue bird?
Practice conversations about pre-selected topics.
